Laura Rachman

I am a Dutch PhD student in the Perception and Sound Design team here at IRCAM and in the Social and Affective Neuroscience team at the Brain and Spine Institute (ICM). I obtained my MSc degree in cognitive neuroscience at the University of Amsterdam.

I am interested in the cognitive processes that are involved when people perceive their own voice and whether they process emotional characteristics of their own voice in the same way as they process other people’s emotional expressions in social interactions for example.

During my PhD, I have made use of audio technologies developed in IRCAM to create and control experimental stimuli for electroencephalography (EEG) experiments. Furthermore, I am interested in different EEG analysis methods such as ERPs, time-frequency analysis, and source localization.

At Ircam from February 2015 to April 2019
