Mauro Lanza
Mauro Lanza (born in 1975) studied the piano in Venice and electronic music at IRCAM. Since his debut, his work has always been tinged with irony, and the result of an ever-increasing effort towards an intimate fusion of classical instrument with less conventional sound sources (physical modelling synthesis, toys-instruments, noises, and other kinds of found objects). He likes the clarity and the non-human nature of formalized processes and often works with digital algorithms. As part of his artistic residencies, at Villa Medici in 2007-2008 and elsewhere (Fresnoy, Civitella Ranieri, Akademie Schloss Solitude), he conducted several pedagogical activities (IRCAM, McGill University, ESMUC, UdK). His music is published by Ricordi, Milan.
